Restored after bomb damage during World War Two, Middle Temple Hall has been a gathering place for lawyers since 1576. William Shakespeare may have been here for the first known performance of his play Twelfth Night on 2 February 1602:
‘At our feast wee had a play called Twelue night or what you will much like the commedy of errors.’
More recently, Gwyneth Paltrow, Joseph Fiennes and Judi Dench came to the Hall to film a scene from a much-loved comedy set in Elizabethan times.
